A short bioClaire Passmore is an artist working with textiles and stitched fabric. She is especially interested in the notion of transforming flat planes into three dimensional forms which often reference the shapes used in traditional quilt patterns. Her focus is the exploration of line and colour, and she delights in discovering the unexpected.
Her award-winning art is exhibited in galleries, museums and public venues in Europe, the United States, Australia, China and Korea. It is also included in several private, corporate and museum collections. Her work is published in numerous books, magazines and journals, and she is also the author of 'Quilting Originals: Design your own art quilts'. Claire is a Juried Artist member of Studio Art Quilt Associates and also serves on the Board of Directors. Claire travels extensively and has lived in many different countries all over the world. She presently lives in Mauritius. |
