Claire Passmore creates contemporary textile art and three-dimensional textile sculpture using fabric, dye, paint, thread and reclaimed materials. Her work explores colour, texture, form and movement through folding, pleating, stitching and sculptural manipulation.
Her award-winning work has been exhibited internationally, including at museums and art institutions in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and Australia. Her work is held in museum and private collections, including the International Quilt Museum in Nebraska. ​

​Claire's award-winning art is exhibited in galleries, museums and other interesting places in the United States, Europe, Oceania, China, Korea and Mauritius

​She is proud to have her work in several private and museum collections.

​​Claire's work draws inspiration from the materiality of textiles. Using techniques such as draping, folding, pleating and gathering, she loves to explore how different textiles can  be sculpted and coerced into interesting shapes and volumes.

Her process is slow and exploratory, drawing from the traditional art forms of origami, patchwork and quilting.
