​A sight to behold. The Sardine Run of southern Africa occurs from May through July when billions of sardine fish spawn in the cool currents running along the southern coastline of South Africa. As they swim eastwards, warmer currents push them closer to the shoreline. The fish become concentrated in a smaller and smaller area of water until their sheer numbers create a feeding frenzy along the coasline. Birds, sharks, seals and fishermen all come together for the feast.
