Part of a series of small textile sculptures created by combining folds, pleats and origami with the flexible properties of textiles with intense, vibrant colour. Out of the Blue inspires memories of the Southern ocean, using meticulously folded and pleated cotton organdie and organza, hand-dyed in soft aquatic hues. Embellished with embroidery, glass beads, mother of pearl, and mirrored elements, the piece shimmers with the tactile essence of seafoam and precious shells, evoking the sensory richness of salty air and cold southern skies.
