BEYOND THE MIRROR
For those who exist outside the binary a mirror is never been a neutral object, but a site of negotiation — a daily reckoning between who we know ourselves to be and what the world expects to see reflected back.
Who do you see when you look in the mirror?" For a non-binary person, that question lands with particular depth. The answer is often: someone the world hasn't quite learned to see yet. Not because we are invisible, but because the frameworks used to look haven't caught up with us.
