Not Your Granny's Garden
This small quilt was made for publication in Quilting Arts Magazine, back in 2014. It is an art quilt interpretation of the traditional Grandmother's Garden quilts which use hundreds of English paper pieced hexagons. This quilt uses fused hexagons to create flower shapes with raw edge applique, fabric paint, gold leaf, stamps, buttons, paper and machine and hand stitch - and even a piece of bandage.
In this workshop you make your own version of this small quilt. I bring the printing blocks I made which you are free to use, but I will also show you how to make our own blocks to create an interesting background for your quilt. Great for using up scraps and trying out something a little different.
