Free Motion Doodle Dolls
Free motion quilting and doodling naturally go together. Following the success of 'Doodle Birds' Claire created a set of 'Doodle Dolls' using the same techniques. If you enjoy free motion quilting this is the class for you! Choose a doll to make - or better still, create your own unique Doodle Doll. Once you have made one you will want to make more!
Claire uses acrylic paint, fabric medium and Derwent Inktense pencils/blocks in the class. Fabric markers and commercial fabric paints would also be suitable.
Important note: This is not a class that teaches Free Motion Quilting, but the more experience you have, the more ambitious you can be.
In this live and interactive online class Claire demonstrates how to create different types of doodles which translate well into stitched free motion quilting patterns. After stitching Claire then shows different painting techniques to complete the design. Participants can ask questions and chat throughout the demonstration. The same techniques are used to create all the designs you see here, so participants can make any of the designs they wish or even create their own. It is fun and informal and suitable for those who are comfortable with free motion quilting.
What is included
Patterns for 3 different dolls and backgrounds will be emailed to the organiser for distribution to all participants. Participants will need to print these off at home if they wish to use them. Participants are also free to create their own design ideas if they prefer.
Patterns for a further 9 designs are available for purchase at an additional cost of £5 for the set. These will be emailed to the individuals who request them and are charged for separately.
