Claire Passmore is an artist working with textiles to create art quilts from layers of stitched fabric. She is especially interested in the notion of transforming flat planes into 3 dimensional forms which often reference the shapes used in traditional quilt patterns. Her focus is on the exploration of geometry and colour, and she delights in discovering the unexpected.
Claire's award-winning art is shown in art galleries, museums and prestigeous exhibits in Europe, the United States, Australia, China and other countries. It is also included in several private and corporate collections. Her work is published in numerous books and magazines and she is also the author of 'Quilting Originals: Design your own art quilts'.
Claire has been a teacher of one sort or another all her life and is always eager to share ideas about creativity and the possibilities of creating art with fabric. She is a Juried Artist member of Studio Art Quilt Associates and also serves on the Board of Directors. Claire travels extensively and has lived in many different countries all over the world; she presently lives in the UK.
