The intriguing notion of using the digital elements of one artwork to create another was the starting point for this piece of work - a kind of digital 'recycling'. Using image editing software, the pixels of a photograph of an earlier piece of the artist's work were manipulated, thus creating new visual layers which were subsequently printed onto fabric. Traditional origami folds further transformed the new fabric to create a completely new artwork. The goal was to explore the creation of volumes which could be stitched into interesting new configurations so the original 'DNA' of the earlier piece is still present, but in a permanently altered visual state.
