Born in Wales in 1967, Claire Passmore is a visual artist residing on the beautiful island of Mauritius. For the past 15 years she has developed a studio practice, creating art using textiles, dye, paint and thread, creating soft sculpture and wall hung art quilts.

Artworks
Claire's work draws inspiration from the materiality of textiles. Using techniques such as draping, folding, pleating and gathering, she loves to explore how different textiles can be sculpted and coerced into interesting shapes and volumes.
Her process is slow and exploratory, drawing from the traditional art forms of origami, patchwork and quilting.
